With the weather starting to heat up, so is our Josper fired grill.
Beef+Beach Lennox Head's Executive Chef Lachlan Smith cooks up steak and seafood in our charcoal oven from Spain. The charcoal heats the oven up to 500 degrees and allows all sorts of meats to be cooked very fast for a shorter time. This keeps in all the moisture making the food super juicy, the rendering fats drip onto the charcoal creating delicious smokey flavours that permeate up into the meat.
The flavour is a reminder of years past, you can smell the timber aroma in the food, the meat is meltingly tender and slices like butter. Some of the most well-known chefs that use a Josper are Heston Blumenthal, Gordon Ramsey and Jamie Oliver. There is not many Jospers in Australia one is at Donovans in St Kilda, Melbourne, with only a few in Northern NSW.
