The Sydney Weekender recently visited Lennox Head's restaurant. On September 17, they enjoyed a meal with us at beef+beach Lennox Head and showcased our restaurant on their TV Show. The show featured our Executive Chef, Lachlan Smith and Restaurant Owner/Manager, Troy Lister.

The ‘Best Visitor Experience’ in Lennox Head

At the Lennox Head Chamber of Commerce Awards on Monday night, Beef+Beach Balcony Restaurant were thrilled to be presented with the award for 'Best Visitor Experience for Hospitality'.

"Winning this award (for the second year in a row) has given us a real boost and we are excited that the experience we provide at Beef+Beach is proving exceptional to our visitors," Beef+Beach Manager Maurice Lawless said.

"For us - it was not only a honour but a culmination of a lot of hard work and dedication put in by the whole team."

Beef+Beach & Lennox Hotel goes solar

Beef+Beach and the Lennox Hotel have recently spent $39,000 installing solar panels on the rooftop of the iconic pub. The solar array is expected to produce 60,000-kilowatt hours of energy with an estimated minimum $9000 year in savings. Owner Greg Campbell said we decided to invest in solar as we believe in doing what we can for the environment and this seemed a simple decision. ‘With the majority of people in the area who are also our customers being environmentally aware it really just made sense,' he said. The solar array was installed by Lennox Head-based company Premium Solar Solutions. ‘The cost was $39,000 to supply and install the panels, but the return both environmental and financial is definitely there,” Mr Campbell said. ‘On a good day, the solar panels on the roof will power the whole of the Lennox Hotel all day.’ The hotel has also installed a new bottle crusher in-house, which crushes each bottle as it is fed into the machine. The crushed bottles require much fewer bins, which are collected by a private company to be recycled weekly. ‘We are continually looking at ways to implement best practice in our business,’ Mr Campbell said.
